Sheehan asked the Minister for Social and Family Affairs the number of persons in receipt of domiciliary care allowance; the number of persons in receipt of domiciliary care allowance caring for persons who have been diagnosed with ADHD; and if she will make a statement on the matter. However the latest data available would indicate that approximately 25,000 people are in receipt of Domiciliary Care Allowance. Of those claims that have the child's disability recorded; circa 6-7% have the disability listed as either attention deficit hyperactivity disorder or ADHD.
