150 Deputy Bernard J. Durkan asked the Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism the extent to which he or his Department proposes to directly or indirectly promote the film industry in 2010; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8415/10]
Amharc ar fhreagraPrimary responsibility for the support and promotion of film-making in Ireland in respect of both the indigenous sector and inward productions is a matter for the Irish Film Board. This agency is funded through my Department and is statutorily independent of the Department in its operations. The allocation to the Irish Film Board in 2010 is €19.272m.
