188 Deputy Denis Naughten asked the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food the single farm payment issued in each year in respect of a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon; the value of entitlements on the holding; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8554/10]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe person named was allocated 19.48 Single Payment entitlements to the value of €53.40 each in 2005. The EU Regulations governing the Single Payment scheme provide that a farmer must use his/her entitlements at least once over a three year period otherwise they are lost to the National Reserve. A farmer uses entitlements by declaring one hectare of land per entitlement per year on a Single Payment application form. The person named did not declare any land on a Single Payment application form in the years 2005, 2006 or 2007 therefore her entitlements were surrendered to the National Reserve in 2008. The person named does not currently hold any Single Payment entitlements.

Amharc ar fhreagraA meeting of the Single Payment Advisory Committee will take place shortly with a view to making recommendations on the arrangements for the 2010 National Reserve. Applications forms will then be made available with a closing date of 17 May 2010.
