60 Deputy Frank Feighan asked the Minister for Finance his policy regarding staff who donate blood during normal working hours; if staff are required to clock out when giving blood; the measures that are in place to encourage staff to donate blood; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Amharc ar fhreagraMy Department does not have a formal policy in relation to staff donating blood during normal working hours. However, a number of the Department's staff have been donating blood to the Irish Blood Transfusion Service on a regular basis for many years. Subject to meeting the business needs of the areas concerned, the Department is happy to facilitate this ongoing practice.
