61 Deputy Arthur Morgan asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform his views on the observations of the Competition Authority that the new Legal Services Ombudsman will not introduce independent regulation to the industry. [13061/10]
Amharc ar fhreagraWhat the independent Office of the Legal Services Ombudsman primarily provides for is better regulation of the system under which the complaints of clients of barristers and solicitors are investigated. This is the policy as contained in the Legal Services Ombudsman Act 2009. The overall systems under which the legal professions are regulated continue to be reviewed in my Department.
