207 Deputy Arthur Morgan asked the Minister for Social and Family Affairs when a decision will be made in relation to the jobseeker’s allowance appeal in respect of a person (details supplied) in County Louth; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17408/10]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe Social Welfare Appeals Office has advised me that, following receipt of the relevant Departmental papers including comments on the grounds of appeal, the appeal from the person concerned will be referred to an Appeals Officer for consideration. As part of this consideration, the Appeals Officer will decide if an oral hearing is appropriate in this case. The Social Welfare Appeals Office functions independently of the Minister for Social and Family Affairs and of the Department and is responsible for determining appeals against decisions on social welfare entitlements.
