226 Deputy Noel Ahern asked the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government the voting rights of a UK citizen who has been resident here for more than 20 years and is married to an Irish citizen. [17463/10]
Amharc ar fhreagraIn order to vote at elections in this jurisdiction, a person must be 18 years of age and his or her name must be entered in the register of electors for a constituency in the State in which the person ordinarily resides. Subject to these primary requirements, a person's citizenship determines the polls at which he or she is entitled to vote. British citizens may vote at Dáil, European and local elections.
