30 Deputy Ruairí Quinn asked the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he has made a decision in relation to the ownership of the Irish draft horse stud; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16918/10]
Amharc ar fhreagraAs the Deputy may be aware, the studbook for the Irish Draught Horse breed in Ireland is maintained by Horse Sport Ireland, which is approved by my Department in accordance with EU and national legislation to do so. In addition, my Department has received two applications to maintain studbooks for the Irish Draught Horse breed from the Irish Draught Horse Society Co-Op Ltd and the Irish Draught Horse Breeders Association. My Department is currently examining these applications and a decision on them will be made in due course.
