Ceist:

213 Deputy Deirdre Clune asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will review the application of a person (details supplied) in County Cork for a six week extension to a working holiday authorisation; the reason there is a delay; when this person will expect to receive a response; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I have been informed by the Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Service (INIS) that to date they have not received an application for further leave to remain in the State from the person mentioned by the Deputy. The Working Holiday Authorisation which is issued by the Department of Foreign Affairs is available to young people who wish to stay in Ireland for an extended holiday and who are afforded the opportunity to work casually in order to fund their stay. It is granted for the duration of one year and is non renewable.
