Ceist:

279 Deputy John O’Mahony asked the Minister for Tourism, Culture and Sport the agencies or bodies to which her Department provides funding or in respect of which it is administratively responsible; the bodies and agencies for which her Department is responsible in respect of her policy; the amount of funding provided in each of the years 2007 to 2010 in tabular form; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The Department currently has thirteen bodies and agencies operating under its remit, as follows:

The Arts Council;

The Crawford Art Gallery Cork;

The Chester Beatty Library;

Fáilte Ireland (National Tourism Development Authority);

The Irish Film Board;

The Irish Museum of Modern Art;

The Irish Sports Council;

The National Concert Hall;

The National Gallery of Ireland;

The National Library of Ireland;

The National Museum of Ireland;

The National Sports Campus Development Authority; and

Tourism Ireland (Cross-Border body).

All of the above are statutory bodies with the exception of the Crawford Gallery, the National Concert Hall, the Irish Museum of Modern Art and Tourism Ireland which are companies limited by guarantee and the Chester Beatty Library which is a Trust. All of the bodies are involved in the implementation of policy and in contributing to its formulation. Details of the financial allocations to these bodies are set out in the Annual Estimates for Public Services and in the annual reports and financial statements of each body and agency, which are available in the Dáil Library or on the relevant corporate websites.
