114 Deputy Trevor Sargent asked the Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs when Ireland will ratify the UN Convention on the Rights of Disabled People; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23916/10]
Amharc ar fhreagraIt is the Government's intention to ratify the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities as quickly as possible, taking into account the need to ensure that all necessary legislative and administrative requirements under the Convention are being met. Work on what is involved by way of implementation of the various provisions in the Convention, which are extensive, continues in the relevant Departments.
