499 Deputy Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin asked the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government the number of staff from local authorities involved in the environmental enforcement network; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [30833/10]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe Environmental Enforcement Network is a network of authorities concerned with environmental regulation, both here and in Northern Ireland, co-ordinated by the Environmental Protection Agency, through its Office of Environmental Enforcement. The Network harnesses the collective resources and expertise available to those authorities, with a view to co-ordinating a consistent and more effective approach to the enforcement of environmental legislation in Ireland. Information in relation to the number of local authority staff that may be involved in the activities of the Network is not available in my Department.
