The Health Service Executive (HSE) has advised that the rent supplement of the person concerned was reduced as there is a non dependent adult in the household who must contribute €24 per week towards the rent payable. If the person concerned is not satisfied with the decision of the HSE it remains open for the person concerned to appeal the decision to the HSE Appeals Office.

Amharc ar fhreagraThe child benefit claim in this case was disallowed on 9 October 2009, as neither parents nor child were found to satisfy the HRC condition. An appeal was subsequently lodged with the Department and this was forwarded to the Social Welfare Appeals Office on 10 March 2010. The person concerned will be notified in writing of the outcome when the appeal process is completed.
