Ceist:465 Deputy Noel Ahern asked the Minister for Finance his views on the introduction of a payment protection scheme for sub-contractors on Government contracts; if any protocols are currently included with contracts when government contracts are being awarded; if same can be considered as it seems most unjust for small sub-contractors to be left unpaid when Government has paid out for their work; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
