242 Deputy Bernard J. Durkan asked the Minister for Justice and Law Reform the position regarding residency status and entitlement to residency in the case of a person (details supplied) in Dublin 15. [34384/10]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe person concerned was granted permission to remain in the State for the three year period to 5 September 2010. He has submitted an application to have this permission renewed and this application is currently under consideration in my Department. Once a decision has been made on this renewal application, this will be conveyed in writing to the person concerned.
I should remind the Deputy that queries in relation to the status of individual immigration cases may be made directly to INIS by email using the Oireachtas Mail facility which has been specifically established for this purpose. The service enables up-to-date information on such cases to be obtained without the need to seek this information through the more administratively expensive Parliamentary Questions process.

Amharc ar fhreagraI am informed by the Immigration Division of my Department that the application by the person concerned for residence in the State based on EU Treaty Rights was reviewed. The person concerned and their legal representative were informed that the application had been refused and of the basis for this decision by letter on 7 May, 2010.
