89 Deputy Martin Ferris asked the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government to state when work will commence at a club (details supplied) in County Down to remove waste that was illegally dumped and if he or his officials will meet with local representatives to discuss the matter [37287/10]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA) will prioritise the order in which waste from the remaining sites in Northern Ireland will be dealt with under the Road Map agreed for tackling historical illegal movements of waste which was endorsed by Ministers from both this jurisdiction and Northern Ireland in October 2007. This prioritisation will be based on the risk of environmental pollution, harm to human health and other relevant factors. My understanding is that the site in question is likely to be the next site to be addressed and that waste will be removed from it in the first half of 2011.
