123 Deputy Seán Ó Fearghaíl asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Education and Skills if home school tuition will be provided for a child (details supplied) in County Kildare; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [41855/10]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe Deputy will be aware that the home tuition scheme provides funding to parents to provide education at home for children who, for a number of reasons such as chronic illness, are unable to attend school. The scheme was extended in recent years to facilitate tuition for children awaiting a suitable educational placement and also to provide early educational intervention for pre-school children with autism. I understand from officials in my Department that the child in question is not eligible for home tuition as there is a school placement available.
