Ceist:157 Deputy Aengus Ó Snodaigh asked the Minister for Justice and Law Reform his views that under the Criminal Law (Human Trafficking) Act 2008, owing to the broad definition of “trafficking” in the Act, labour exploitation, including forced labour, can be prosecuted as an offence without the requirement that the victim had been trafficked across a national border into Ireland; if there is other legislation which criminalises forced labour; and his plans to address this matter in forthcoming legislation.
