237 Deputy Regina Doherty asked the Minister for Tourism, Culture and Sport the number of European Council meetings that his predecessor was entitled to attend in the year before 9 March 2011; the dates of such meetings; in each case if his predecessor attended the meeting or if the meeting was attended by officials in his place; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Amharc ar fhreagraThere were two formal meetings of the Education, Youth and Culture and Sport Council in the year prior to 9 March 2011. The information sought by the Deputy is set out in the table below. Tourism issues were dealt with during this period by the Competitiveness Council, attendance at which was a matter for the then Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Innovation.
