240 Deputy Seán Kenny asked the Minister for Education and Skills the number of students who are expected to graduate as physiotherapists, nurses, dental nurses, midwives, and occupational therapists in 2011 and if he will provide the same for each of the past four years. [9459/11]
Amharc ar fhreagraAvailable data on the number of new entrants and graduates in respect of these disciplines is provided in the table supplied by the Higher Education Authority. 2010 graduate data and final year enrolments for the current year are not available yet. As nursing, physiotherapy and occupational therapy are four year degree programmes, the level of enrolments in 2007 provides an approximate indication of what the expected graduate output may be in 2011. However, actual output will depend on a number of factors, including attrition rates, the level of repeats and students taking a break in their studies. Similarity the level of enrolments in 2008 and 2009 provide some indication of the number of dental nurses who may graduate in 2011.
