Ceist:

445 Deputy Frank Feighan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food when the vacant post for district superintendent on the REP scheme and the farm waste management scheme for counties Leitrim, Sligo and Roscommon will be filled; and if his attention has been drawn to farm payments which are cleared and cannot issue in view of the fact there is no person to sign off on cheques. The post to which the Deputy refers has recently become vacant and, as the Deputy will be aware, a moratorium on recruitment and promotion is in place in the public service. Alternative arrangements are being put in place to accommodate payments to farmers.
