153 Deputy Brian Stanley asked the Minister for Justice and Equality the total cost of lifting, checking and sealing manholes and drains and related works in advance of the visit here of Queen Elizabeth II; the projected cost of lifting, checking and unsealing manholes and drains when she leaves the State; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Amharc ar fhreagraThe Garda Commissioner is the Accounting Officer for the Garda Vote in accordance with the Garda Síochána Act 2005. I have been informed by the Garda authorities that An Garda Síochána does not maintain a separate record of the costs referred to by the Deputy. In addition, I understand that to seek to provide such a breakdown would involve the expenditure of a significant amount of Garda time and resources. In the circumstances I regret that I am not in a position to supply the information the Deputy has requested.
