128 Deputy Michael McGrath asked the Minister for Education and Skills if he will list the number of positions under his control but outside of the civil service which will be affected by new salary caps; the specific cuts involved and any impact identified on the ability to recruit or to retain specific positions in the next 12 months. Four positions under my control in the Higher Education Sector will be affected by the new salary cap of €200,000. They are the Presidents of UCD, UCC, NUIG and the Provost of TCD. The approved salary for each position will be reduced by €11,000 approx. No impact on the ability to recruit or retain these positions in the next 12 months has been identified.
