534 Deputy Robert Dowds asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport his views on withdrawing the rail order for metro west unless he plans to implement the project in order to remove the need for an An Bord Pleanála oral hearing on the subject next month; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I am currently considering the appropriate balance to be struck between funding for construction and for planning and design, in the context of the forthcoming National Development Plan, and I will shortly be providing clarity to the various transport agencies in that regard.
