401 Deputy Dessie Ellis asked the Minister for Justice and Equality the reason there is a 12 to 16 week waiting list for Garda clearance to enable a person (details supplied) in Dublin 11 to take up a job that she was appointed to more than three months ago. [26143/11]
Amharc ar fhreagraI am informed by the Garda authorities that two vetting applications were received by the Garda Central Vetting Unit in respect of the person to whom the Deputy refers. A response to the first application was returned to the registered organisation involved on 9 August 2011. The second application is currently being processed and it is anticipated that a response will issue shortly.
