405 Deputy Seán Kenny asked the Minister for Justice and Equality the number of helicopters and other aircraft in the Garda air support unit; his plans to increase same; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26210/11]
Amharc ar fhreagraI have been informed by the Garda authorities that the Garda Air Support Unit currently consists of one fixed wing Britten Norman Defender aircraft and two EC135 helicopters. The allocation of Garda resources is a matter for the Garda Commissioner and I am advised that there are no plans to expand the Unit at present.
