37 Deputy Aengus Ó Snodaigh asked the Minister for Finance if he will confirm if anyone employed by the National Asset Management Agency was offered a permanent contract; and if so, the number of same. [32361/11]
Amharc ar fhreagraAll National Asset Management Agency (NAMA) staff are employees of the National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA). Under section 42 of the National Asset Management Agency Act 2009, the NTMA assigns staff to NAMA. I am informed by the NTMA that 182 staff are currently assigned to NAMA. 171 of these staff are employed on the basis of specified purpose contracts — their employment lasts for as long as their function is required by NAMA. The remaining 11 staff, principally staff reassigned from other business units within the NTMA, are employed on the basis of general NTMA employment contracts and will continue to be employed by the NTMA following the completion of their assignment to NAMA.
