62 Deputy Denis Naughten asked the Minister for Defence if he is satisfied that capacity is available at Custume Barracks, Athlone, County Westmeath to cater for additional personnel; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [38439/11]
Amharc ar fhreagraThere is sufficient accommodation in Custume Barracks, Athlone, to provide for personnel relocating from the barracks in Cavan and Mullingar who choose to live in barracks. These personnel will be accommodated in the separate male and female billet blocks currently situated within Custume Barracks. Mess, dining and other welfare facilities will also be available to these personnel from existing facilities at Custume Barracks. Work-related accommodation will also be put in place before personnel relocate.
