482 Deputy Seamus Kirk asked the Minister for Health the position regarding the long-term illness scheme; when the new changes in the LTI scheme will commence; if applicants will be notified regarding changes; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [39774/11]
Amharc ar fhreagraFree GP care will be extended to persons in receipt of drugs and medicines under the Long Term Illness Scheme. Primary legislation is required to give effect to this commitment. There will be an announcement in due course about the start date for the new arrangements. It is hoped that the new arrangements will be in place by early Summer.
