172 Deputy Michael Healy-Rae asked the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government his plans for the Dingle Peninsula, Kerry, considering that Meitheal Forbartha na Gaeltachta Teoranta has disbanded and it is not under any Leader programme; the way he will address this situation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Significant progress is being made; all relevant Rural Development Programme RDP (LEADER) project files have been released by the liquidator and are now with my Department. All project promoters will be contacted shortly. My Department has had discussions with the European Commission and the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine with regard to the RDP and is working with them to ensure appropriate regulatory compliance in respect of any solution put forward.
My intention is to find a solution that will be efficient and effective and applied at the earliest possible opportunity to all Gaeltacht areas including Kerry and all relevant stakeholders will be informed as soon as an appropriate solution is determined.
