492 Deputy Eric Byrne asked the Minister for Justice and Equality, regarding the Criminal Law (Defence of the Dwelling) Act 2011, if an animal attacks an intruder in a private residence or home, whether it is liable to be euthanized; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5130/12]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe Criminal Law (Defence and the Dwelling) Act 2011 makes no provision for destruction of any animals. Provision is made in the control of dogs legislation for the destruction of dogs in certain circumstances and that matter falls within the remit of the Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government.
