60 Deputy Jonathan O’Brien asked the Minister for Health if he has assessed the likely impact of the health budget cuts on essential orthodontic treatments for children; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8341/12]
Amharc ar fhreagraReductions to the budget for orthodontic services are being applied by the HSE in line with the agreed cost efficiencies required under the National Service Plan. The HSE will be commencing an independent review of Orthodontic Services which will consider a number of service provision models. The outcome of this review will give guidance as to what changes will be desirable to provide the best possible model of care delivery, given the current resources available and expected future demand for the services.
