81 Deputy Pádraig Mac Lochlainn asked the Minister for Finance if he will direct officials in Revenue to make inspections to ascertain if a company (details supplied) has unlawfully claimed relief on import duty on goods it has exported to Ireland. [8807/12]
Amharc ar fhreagraThis is a matter for the Revenue Commissioners and the Deputy will be aware of the longstanding independence of the Revenue Commissioners which was recently confirmed by Section 101 of the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) Act 2011. However, I have arranged for the Deputy's concerns to be brought to the attention of the Revenue Commissioners. In that context, the Deputy might advise the Revenue as to the specific basis for his concerns and provide such information as he considers would assist in the consideration of the issue raised by him.
