202 Deputy Regina Doherty asked the Minister for Education and Skills when a person (details supplied) in County Meath will be allocated a place on a FÁS ECDL course; the reason for the waiting list for ECDL course places when there is a high demand; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I am informed by FÁS that the individual in question commenced an ECDL course on the 20th March 2012 in Drogheda. ECDL courses are very popular and a very high number of clients have been referred to these programmes. As a result of this high demand, waiting lists are necessarily in place.
