30 Deputy Robert Troy asked the Minister for Finance when the European Commission will conclude a timetable for the implementation of the provisions of the Fiscal Compact Treaty should Ireland and the other signatories of the treaty successfully ratify it. [19292/12]
Amharc ar fhreagraNo definitive timetable has been published by the European Commission as to when the European Commission shall bring forward their proposals. However, the Treaty on Stability, Coordination and Governance in the Economic and Monetary Union will come into force on 1 January 2013, provided that twelve Contracting Parties whose currency is the Euro have deposited their instrument of ratification, or on the first day of the month following the deposit of the twelfth instrument of ratification by a Contracting Party whose currency is the Euro, whichever is the earlier.
