Amharc ar fhreagraThe Civil Service Regulation Acts 1956-2006 form the legal basis for the management of the civil service. Under Section 17 of the Acts the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform has the authority to regulate and control the civil service and to set the terms and conditions of civil servants. The Secretary General of the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform has a key role in advising the Minister and implementing Government policies in relation to the management of the civil service. There are no plans to amend this process at present or appoint a legal head of the civil service.
