543 Deputy Michael Healy-Rae asked the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government if he will publicly state that no persons water will be turned off in the future if they are unable to pay for the service. [20631/12]
Amharc ar fhreagraIrish Water will be required to have a range of options in place to assist householders who have difficulties in paying their bills. For example, a wide range of flexible payment options are available for the other utility services and it is expected that these will be replicated for water services. It would, also be expected that Irish Water would pursue payment from customers who refuse to pay even when they have the financial capacity to pay the bill, and a range of options will also be put in place to this end, as is normal practice with other utility service providers.
