Ceist:

537 Deputy Kevin Humphreys asked the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government the progress that has been made in the case of public or social housing in implementing a 12-month probationary tenancy for all new tenants when, if tenants engage in anti-social behaviour during this period, their tenancy will be terminated; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Section 29 of the Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2009 provides for the prescription of different forms of local authority tenancies. In fulfilment of the commitment outlined in theProgramme for Government, consideration will be given to making regulations providing for probationary tenancies, and their termination in the event of anti-social behaviour, when section 29 is being commenced as part of the ongoing implementation of the 2009 Act.
