262 Deputy Brendan Griffin asked the Minister for Social Protection if a decision has been made on the request by a person (details supplied) in County Kerry to have their appeal for disability benefit back-pay reviewed; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [33450/12]
Amharc ar fhreagraI am advised by the Social Welfare Appeals Office that an Appeals Officer, having fully considered all the available evidence, including that adduced at oral hearing, disallowed the appeal of the person concerned. The person concerned was notified of the Appeals Officer's decision on 26 June 2012. The Social Welfare Appeals Office functions independently of the Minister for Social Protection and of the Department and is responsible for determining appeals against decisions on social welfare entitlements.
