The introduction of a third band of employers contribution on weekly income exceeding €1,923 per week at the rate of 11.75%, 12.75%, 13.75%, 14.75% and 15.75% is estimated to yield €18.3 million, €36.6 million, €54.9 million, €73.2 million, and €91.5 million, respectively, in additional funding in a full year for the Social Insurance Fund.
127. Deputy Jack Wall asked the Minister for Social Protection the reason a person (details supplied) in County Kildare has not had their rent supplement paid for the past ten months; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [42208/12]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe Department has paid an Exceptional Needs payment in relation to the arrears owed to the person concerned. However, a housing needs assessment is required from the client in order to ensure that a future entitlement exists. The person concerned has been given an additional 12 week period in order to obtain this document.
128. Deputy Pat Breen asked the Minister for Social Protection when a decision on domiciliary care allowance will issue to a person (details supplied) in County Clare; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [42211/12]
Amharc ar fhreagraAn application for domiciliary care allowance (DCA) was received from the person concerned on 30 August 2012. The application has been forwarded to one of the Department’s Medical Assessors for their medical opinion. Upon receipt of this opinion, a decision will issue to the customer. It can currently take up to 8 weeks to process a DCA application.
