701. Deputy Timmy Dooley asked the Minister for Transport; Tourism and Sport if he will provide an update on the progress of the N2-N3 Link Road project with a projection for when these works will conclude; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [42828/12]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe improvement and maintenance of regional and local roads in its area, is a statutory function of each road authority in accordance with the provisions of section 13 of the Roads Act, 1993. Works on such roads are a matter for the relevant local authority to be funded from its own resources supplemented by State road grants. I understand that this scheme is approximately 70% complete and is on track to open in Quarter 1/Quarter 2 of 2013.
