Ceist:

90. Deputy Thomas P. I am pleased to confirm that the Passport Service already offer a passport reminder service available at www.passport.ie. The service sends passport holders a reminder by e-mail three months before a passport is due to expire. At the moment, Passport holders must register for this service, where name, e-mail address and the expiry date of the passport is all that is required. The Passport Service is currently examining the feasibility and cost of introducing an automatic reminder service.

Pending the outcome of this feasibility study, I would urge all passport holders to register for the reminder service.
