406. Deputy Sean Fleming asked the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform the reason he has requested the Department of Social Protection not to proceed with the approval of pension scheme for community employment supervisors/assistant supervisors as recommended by the Labour Court; if he will explain the role of his Department in dealing with this issue; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The issue raised by the Deputy is not in the first instance the responsibility of my Department notwithstanding any deliberations that may have taken place with the Department of Social Protection on this matter in the context of public expenditure policy.
