833. Deputy Thomas P. Broughan asked the Minister for Defence the number of times the bomb disposal team were called out to incidents in Dublin for the years 2009, 2010, 2011 and to date in 2012; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [48018/12]
Amharc ar fhreagraPursuant to their role in rendering aid to the civil power, the Defence Forces have a number of Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) teams on call, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to respond to requests received from An Garda Síochána for assistance in dealing with a suspect device or for the removal of old ordnance. The number of times that EOD teams from the Defence Forces were called out in response to incidents in Dublin for the years 2009, 2010, 2011 and to date in 2012 is set out below.
