Amharc ar fhreagraI am advised by the HSE that there were 2,248 admissions to care in 2011. Of these admissions 354 related to children who were aged under 2 years. Of all admissions to care in 2011, 62% were based on a voluntary agreement between the parent/guardian and the HSE. Data on the principal reason for admission of all children to care is collated under a number of categories - abuse, child problems and family problems. Over 85% of non-voluntary admissions to care in 2011 were due to abuse, neglect and serious family problems.
