270. Deputy Finian McGrath asked the Minister for Education and Skills if a decision has been made to retain the bachelor of education degree programme at a college (details supplied) in County Sligo and if so, when this was decision taken. [57088/12]
Amharc ar fhreagraAs the Deputy may be aware, the HEA has been requested to consult with the relevant parties and to prepare a detailed plan on how to implement the recommendations made by an international panel of education experts on possible new structures to improve initial teacher education in Ireland. I expect to receive the detailed implementation plan in the near future. I will consider the plan when received and a further announcement will be made at that stage.
