20. Deputy Mick Wallace asked the Minister for Finance his views on news reports that Independent News and Media may have some of its debts written down by State-supported banks; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10626/13]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe write-down of any debt is a commercial matter for the management and the Board of the Institutions. As the Deputy will be aware the Relationship Frameworks we have in place provide that the State will not intervene in the day-to-day operations of the covered banks or their management decisions. These frameworks are published on the Department of Finance website at http://banking.finance.gov.ie/presentations-and-latest-documents/.
