404. Deputy Jack Wall asked the Minister for Defence his views on correspondence (details supplied) regarding the Defence Forces; the actions he will take to address the concerns raised; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11360/13]
Amharc ar fhreagraDefence Forces General Routine Order No. 43 of 1955 prohibits serving personnel from communicating with members of the Oireachtas regarding service matters. Such matters should be dealt with through the chain of command or through the conciliation and arbitration scheme for members of the Permanent Defence Force. In the circumstances, it would be inappropriate for me to comment on the matters raised in the correspondence referred to by the Deputy.
