965. Deputy Thomas P. Broughan asked the Minister for Justice and Equality if he will immediately publish the full report on the alleged quashing of certain penalty points including a divisional breakdown of the Garda districts and the road traffic offences involved in each one; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Amharc ar fhreagraAs the Deputy will be aware, documentation containing specific allegations concerning the enforcement of road traffic legislation was forwarded by my Department to the Garda Commissioner. The Commissioner appointed an Assistant Commissioner to conduct an examination and to report on these allegations. I have now received the report from the Garda Commissioner of the examination into the allegations and this report is currently under consideration within my Department. I intend to bring the report to Government at the earliest opportunity and to publish the findings thereafter, including statistical information contained in the report.
