Broughan asked the Minister for Finance if he is considering retaining the current reduced rate of valued added tax for certain goods and services, such as restaurant and catering services and hotel and holiday accommodation, which is at 9% up until 31 December 2013, past this period in order that VAT will remain at a reduced rate into 2014 in view of the success of the measure in reviving the food and tourism industries; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
